On Friday, December 7, 2018, Edward "Ed - Suitcase Eddie" William Schoenherr, Jr., loving father of five, peacefully passed away at the age of 78, at home with his daughter, Joanie by his side. Ed was born on January 13, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Edward and Catherine (Byron) Schoenherr, Sr. He graduated from Father Judge Catholic High School in 1957 and served in the United States Air Force from 1957- 1960. On September 23rd, 1961, he married Joan Paxson. They raised five children, one son, Ed, III and four daughters, Joanie, Donna, Karen and Tammi. Ed worked over 30 years as a Foreman with The Budd Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was loved by his collegues. He had a passion for being at the beach and after he retired, he moved to Wildwood, New Jersey. He took a part-time job working on the boardwalk, where he loved meeting new people and bringing smiles to their faces. Ed enjoyed fishing, boxing, motorcycles and watching old movies. He was a avid music lover, with some of his favorite artists being Adele, Ed Sheeran, Journey, Pink and Frank Sinatra. Ed will be fondly remebered for his great sense of humor, his infectious smile and for his ability to inspire others to make things better. Ed was preceded in death by his father, Ed, his mother, Catherine, his two son-in-laws, Rick and Mike and the mother of his children and best friend, Joan. He is survived by his five children, Joanie, Donna, Karen, Ed, III and Tammi, their spouses, Todd, Mark and Jules and seven beautiful grandchildren, Danny, Michael, Joanie, Toddy, Andrew, Sasha and Nicholas. He will be remembered by Charlene, Stephen, Danielle and their children. Memorial Donations in honor of Ed's life may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
