George O. VanSant, age 74 sadly passed away Saturday January 12, 2019. He was born in Bristol, PA. and a lifelong resident of Croydon, PA. After graduating from Delhaas High School George entered the Army in 1967. George was very proud of his military service within the 1st Cavalry Air Mobile in Vietnam where he was awarded The National Defense Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal; Vietnam Service Metal with Bronze Star for Valor; Purple Heart with One Oak Leaf Cluster; Air Medal with 25 plus air assaults; and Combat Infantry Badge. Following the Army, George was employed and retired from SKF in Philadelphia . He loved the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, NASCAR, live music, working on classic cars and drag racing. He enjoyed many years of billiards competitions at APA ,along with his brother Bruce and son Steven, where he formed many lasting relationships within. George was also a proud lifetime member of the Joseph A. Schumacher VFW Post 1597 along with The Elks Lodge. George will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 21 years Wendy (nee Mossman) VanSant , his children; Janis VanSant, Dawn VanSant-Welsh (Patrick), and Steven VanSant, His brother Bruce VanSant (Florence), nephew Douglas and niece Debbie . He will also be missed by his grandchildren and stepchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Tuesday January 22, 2019 from 11am-12pm at the Tomlinson Funeral Home 2207 Bristol Pike Bensalem Pa 19020. Followed by a service at 12pm. Interment Washington Crossing National Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Joseph A. Schumacher VFW Post 1597 at 901 Bellevue Ave Croydon, Pa 19021. Tomlinson Funeral Home, P.C.
